"Factory Green" is a Traveler's Company limited edition collection of some of their favorite brass writing instruments redesigned with a light teal green brassing coating. This series was inspired by a shade of green paint that is commonly used in manufacturing plants, on industrial printing presses and along the floors, doors and shelves in many factories in Japan. One example in particular comes from a well-used shelf in the Traveler's affiliated Design Phil Nagareyama Plant that has been used to store a large number of printing ink cans; over the years, the paint has faded, chipped and stained in certain spots and just as a Traveler's Notebook does, has become an embodiment of time, work, memories and journeys. The Factory Green coating that comes with this series is meant to echo the idea that history lives within our objects.
Brass Pencil - Factory Green. This is a pencil made in an old press factory located in Japan. This product consists of two parts, the brass made holder and the actual pencil with an iron cup. When this is not used, the pencil fits inside the holder, transforming into a compact “carry around” size. This portability makes the item great for travel.
The pencil and eraser refills are now available as a set, so you can use the pencil for a long time and enjoy how the texture of brass ages with use.
The part of eraser can also be removed for a clip-free pen if you prefer. You can put it on TRAVELER’S notebook Pen Holder. or just put in your pocket. This portability makes the item serve as a great partner for a traveler.
Its body is made of brass and painted in the original color. As you use this pencil, the paint gradually fades and that will make the brass more visible giving it a vintage taste. And this pencil has a clip and cap with the distinctive texture of iron, to match with aged brass color. It may look like stain or uneven surface. By a long time use the change in color lessen the concern.

ABOUT BRASS PRODUCTS
BRASS changes its color and texture as you use it, and every single BRASS item changes differently depending on the user and his/her environment. This is something unique to and wonderful about brass. As the copper within the brass oxidizes, your brass item might develop some verdigris, a kind of rust. Take it easy, since it does no harm to you. If you want the original gloss of the brass back, just try polishing the item with metal polish. Enjoy and cherish the highly nuanced color hue and texture only brass can give you.
