Omiya Yogashiten: Shall we have some tea?
This standard, butterfly-stopper style cover is modeled after the packaging of Omiya Yogashiten, a historical and beloved sweets shop in Kanda, Tokyo. It shows a man and woman relaxing on a terrace, a boy playing with a dog, women and girls dressed up nicely, and other scenes that will brighten your day. Omiya Yogashiten is famous for treats such as strawberry shortcake sandwiches and colorful mixed-fruit containing plenty of strawberries. Equally popular is the packaging, which we’ve based this cover design on.

Yoshitake: Today's Adventure
The Today’s Adventure cover by Shinsuke Yoshitake is filled with a collection of small illustrations that came about as simple sketches. There are so many cute poses in the mix, with some looking bored and others staring off deep into space. Children consider even an average day to be full of adventure and this design is to remind us to write about even our average days and cherish those moments.

The natural-colored cotton canvas material has been printed on with an inkjet printer. The interior pocket is printed with Shinsuke Yoshitake’s signature next to an illustration of a sitting baby. Opening your techo to meet the baby’s distant expression is sure to help you feel even more attached to your cover over time.

Have a Nice Day!
This is a new shape of a cover that simplifies the design of the Hobonichi Techo cover as much as possible. The cover does not include the pockets and “butterfly stopper” pen holders that are a feature of the regular covers to make it a design that is compact when carrying around.

The color is black, and the textile used is a lightweight faux leather. The front cover features the words “Have a nice day!” foil pressed in gold. In place of the “butterfly stopper” pen holders, the cover is designed to close shut with an elastic band. It also comes with a pen hook designed to hold a pen by its clip.

This techo cover not only hopes for the person using it to have a nice day, but for anyone who sees this cover too. It will energize you whenever it catches your eyes, and is perfect for anyone who wishes to spend each day preciously.

Dainty flowers blossom all across this techo cover. It has elegant yellow flowers with round leaves and vines growing gracefully. They all form gentle curves, reminiscent of Art Nouveau. Highly dense embroidery covers the surface. Details down to the veins on each petal are described using thin thread. The leaves have the threads piled up for a three-dimensional effect. The ends of the bookmarks are adorned with tassels in off-white to match the color of the vines and leaves.

Glen Plaid
This cover uses a timeless, glen plaid pattern that has a classic and sophisticated feel. The black and white color combination is accented with the occasional thin, red line. It would blend in well on formal business occasions but would equally match the casual attire. The textile used is originally made for clothes such as shirts. It has a soft texture suited for any season and is perfect as a techo cover that you will carry around everywhere. The supple fabric has a silky touch.

The color of the interior is chic black and uses a matte polyester with a texture like cotton.

Safari 2
This leather-trimmed trifold cover is made of a navy twill material. The name of this cover comes from “Safari Style,” the fashion style European nobles wore on safari in Africa back in the first half of the twentieth century.

You can hold the cover sideways like a clutch bag. The smile pocket on the interior, pen hook, and bookmark charms also uses cow leather. Inside the flap are two vertical pockets that can hold cards and other small objects. In front of that is another small vertical pocket that is trimmed.

An antique button was reprinted specially for the Hobonichi Reflect cover.

The original button was made at the end of the 19th century in France. Inside the room, a cat is peering into a mirror. The button is detailed, down to the floorboards, the pattern of the wallpaper and the coat of the cat. The herringbone material is made with wool tweed. It’s an eye-catching red, but the texture calms it down, so it suits well with anybody.

Close the cover using the belt with snap-on buttons. There are two button snaps so that the cover can accommodate your techo’s growing thickness if you paste in items like photographs and ticket stubs. The pen hook on the cover interior is designed to hold a pen by its clip. The button starts out bright and shiny, and gradually darkens and dulls over time for that classic brass look you can enjoy while your cover matures alongside you.

Liberty Fabrics: Erica
Erica is a textile that was created for Liberty Fabrics in 1969. It features small wildflowers with long stems, intertwined across the whole fabric. Interspersed among the blooming flowers are some buds that give the design a cute look. The black background makes the beauty of the flowers pop. The cover is made with Liberty Fabric’s own "Tana Lawn" material, a meticulously processed cotton fabric with a soft, silken feel that offers prints in vibrant colors. The cover interior uses a soft material that almost feels like cotton.

minä perhonen / candle

Candle is a warming design with flames flickering in various shapes and sizes. This design’s original image was created by hand-painting colors onto a stamp. You can see the intricate strokes of the brush in the colors. The comforting orange will provide a calming, relaxing time. The cover uses a cotton that’s sturdy yet soft and pleasant to the touch. The pen holders and cover interior are made with faux leather in a calming pale gray. Two dotted lace bookmarks are attached.

Leather: TS Basic - Black
TS stands for the initials of Taku Satoh. Out of all the various Hobonichi Techo covers, this has been a staple in our lineup and has been a popular choice for over ten years.

The fine texture of the matte cow leather is soft from the first time you use it and fits comfortably in your hands. The smooth feel as you hold it in your hands is another characteristic of this leather. The leather cover exudes an elegance with a black color that will suit any outfit. It makes it an ideal first-time leather cover and is also perfect for anyone who wants to own a standard leather cover that is simple, chic, and timeless.

Sold separately is the PVC Cover on Cover for selected covers. In addition to protecting your cover from wear and tear, the Cover on Cover is a great place to store postcards, pictures, and other decorations to customize your cover at any time.

Note: The Hobonichi Techo's Tomoe River paper is designed to prevent bleed-through, but some fountain pens and water-based ink pens are not compatible with this paper. When switching to a new pen, we recommend testing the pen somewhere in the book, such as the back memo pages, to see if the ink bleeds through or takes an especially long time to dry.
