PLEIN AIR WATERCOLOR WORKSHOP WITH BRIAN TAI / 30 MAY 2021 (SUNDAY)
This is an Plein Air Urban Sketching where artist Brian Tai will be teaching you about base colour, toning, light & shadow play as well as the three layers of watercolor when it comes to urban sketching and painting.
You will be taught the following:
- How to choose scene
- What is best composition
- How to manage focal point and details
- On-site trouble shooting
He will also cover different types of materials and tools required with a critique and sharing session at the end.
Date: 30 May 2021 / Sunday
Time: 9.00am to 12.30pm
Location: Masjid Jamek (exact location will be shared upon confirmation of payment)

If you are unable to make it for the workshop kindly inform us a minimum of two (2) days before the workshop so that we can move you to a future workshop otherwise you will need to find someone else to replace you.
Please bring your own
- Watercolor Round Brushes in size 4 and 10
- Sketchbook or Watercolor Paper in a Block/Pad (A4 or A3)
- Watercolor Set (Tubes or Pans)
- Cloth or Kitchen Towel
- Cup for watercolor (also please bring a bottle of water)
- Drinking water to stay hydrated
- Optional: Cap, umbrella, easel, sunblock or portable chair
About the Instructor
Brian Tai is an artist cum math/physics tutor with over 26 years of experience in watercolor, acrylic and oil painting.
